We are pleased to confirm that the lake has received a stocking of Bream to 6lb, approx 75 fish ranging from 3.5lb to 6lb, with the majority weighing between 4lb and 5lb were introduced. If ever there was a year for angling clubs in the Colne Valley to work together the weather during 2014 certainly threw down the gauntlet to everyone involved in running fisheries. Cries for help were common place and neighbouring angling clubs responded with equipment and manpower to help each other out when the need arose. There have been some good results, both day and night, and we are still hearing about some good catches of silver fish from the lake which is great to hear. On the 14th September, we supported a local scouts group by opening up The Elms to them. Some members gave up their time and donated prizes and with support from Watford Angling Coaches the scouts completed their “Angling Badge”. The event went well, 8 scouts fished plus 3 leaders. They all caught and there was a prize of tackle for best total weight, most fish and best fish. Thanks to the members that donated the (more…)
